Gayle — Diploma Teaching (ECE)

Registered Teacher - Owner/Supervisor

I established Murrays Bay Childcare in 1981. I live in St Mary's bay and have three grown up children and six grandchildren. I am very committed to professional development for myself and my teachers. Keeping up with current trends in the early childhood field is vital to providing the optimal learning environment for your children. I provide a warm and homely atmosphere for children where they are respected as individuals.

Pam — Diploma Teaching (ECE) Registered Teacher

I have worked at Murrays Bay Childcare since 1999. I am passionate about connecting children with nature, our unhurried child/teacher philosophy which allows children to explore, play or develop at their own pace and also early literacy and our child-led project based learning. I have three grown up children and 2 gorgeous grandchildren.

Jackie — Diploma of Teaching (ECE)

I have lived in Mairangi Bay since 2006 with my husband and two children after emmigrating from Scotland. I am passionate about working with children and I have worked in Pre-School since 1998. I believe in being guided by the child and their learning style, in offering a range of learning opportunities to develop and extend them. In particular I enjoy working with children in their discovery of science, literacy and natural resources.

Hi I'm Emma. I feel very privileged to be a teacher at MBCC and part of a wonderful team of teachers.

I value a home-like environment for children and am passionate about our natural environment and the learning opportunities it offers. I enjoy learning and discovering alongside children and value working with parents as partners.

Barbara — Diploma Teaching (ECE)

Registered Teacher

Becoming a qualified Early Childhood Teacher fulfilled a lifelong passion for me.

I have lived in Mairangi Bay since 1989 with my husband and 2 now adult sons. I really enjoy working with children in the outdoor environment extending their interests through involving them in gardening, harvesting and cooking their own produce, and extending this to include family and community.

Sherene — Graduate Diploma Teaching ECE

Part time teacher/Admin, Registered Teacher

I am Gayle and Gary's daughter-in-law and stand in as a relief Teacher when necessary and do the administration in the office. MBCC is like our second home since moving to Murrays Bay in 2006.

Now that I have my own children and have studied ECE, I am enjoying fostering a life-long love of learning in young children.

Mike — Qualified Carpenter, Maintenance

I am Gayle and Gary's son and have been involved with the Centre from it's beginnings—I built the sandpit in 1991 when I was 17! Sherene and I have 3 amazing children — Mason, Roman and Brooklynn and we love living so close to the centre.

We did a huge renovation on the childcare centre in 2004 and I now do maintenance and building projects when needed.

Anneza — Diploma teaching (ECE)

Registered Teacher

I have been teaching full and part time at Murrays Bay Childcare Centre for many years now. I live with my husband Ryan and three little boys—having always lived on the Shore. I have a passion for learning and teaching especially through play and feel that children respond positively when given the chance to explore their world around them in an unhurried way.

Support staff

I was born in Devonport and have lived there ever since. I have been working at Murrays Bay Childcare since 2000 where my job is to make the centre sparkle. I am also on hand to apply plasters, administer hugs and generally help out and support the teachers where needed.
